US President Donald Trump has again threatened Iran, demanding that it open the Strait of Hormuz by Tuesday evening. Otherwise, he has promised to strike at the country’s infrastructure.
“The whole country can be shut down overnight, and that night could be tomorrow,” he said at the start of a White House press conference.
“They won’t have a single bridge, they won’t have a single power plant. They’ll be back in the Stone Age,” he added later, answering reporters’ questions.
Trump confirmed that the ultimatum expires on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time (midnight Greenwich Mean Time, 3:00 a.m. Yerevan time on Wednesday).
“At midnight tomorrow, every bridge in Iran will be destroyed, every power plant will be out of service. They will burn, they will explode, and they will never be used again. “This could happen in just four hours if we wanted to. But we don’t want that to happen,” the American leader said.
