Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has announced that Serbia is preparing a “sabotage operation” against the gas pipeline that supplies Russian gas to Hungary. Orban also called an emergency meeting of the National Security Council.
“We have ordered the strengthening of military control and protection of the Hungarian section of the gas pipeline. Serbian authorities are conducting investigative actions, and Hungarian authorities are in constant contact with them,” Orban said.
Earlier, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced that explosives with “enormous destructive power” had been found on Serbian territory near the Turkish Stream gas pipeline.
“The backpacks, which contained two large packages of explosives and detonators, were found in Kanija, in northern Serbia, a few hundred meters from the gas pipeline,” Vučić said.
Vucic wrote on his social media that after discovering the explosives, he personally informed the Hungarian Prime Minister.
