US President Donald Trump has issued a scathing threat to Iran, demanding that it open the Strait of Hormuz by Tuesday. This came after US troops rescued a wounded American pilot whose plane had crashed behind the front lines after being shot down by Iran.
Trump wrote on his Truth Social media account: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day and Bridge Day in Iran, everything. Never seen anything like it!!! Open the Strait, you crazy bastards, you’re going to hell. GET READY! Praise be to Allah.”
Earlier on Sunday, in an interview with Fox News, Trump said he thought there was a “good chance” of making a deal with Iran by Monday, before his deadline.
“I think there’s a good chance tomorrow, talks are going on right now,” he said. “If they don’t make a deal and don’t do it quickly, I’m considering blowing everything up and seizing the oil.”
