Today’s guest on Radar Zruts is Daniel Ioannisyan, program coordinator of the “Union of Informed Citizens” NGO.
“We have been conducting extended long-term observation in Yerevan and all regions of Armenia since the beginning of March. We are monitoring the ongoing campaign, which is normal. The Electoral Code will regulate the pre-election campaign starting May 8, clearly defining the rules of the game. Parties will have free airtime. Now it is less regulated, but it is legal. It is illegal only on voting day and the day before voting, and the rest of the time, conducting pre-election campaigning is legal,” he said.
According to Ioannisyan, the problems they have recorded relate to manifestations of illegal influence on voters.
“In fact, we see these manifestations both in Armenia and outside of Armenia. We also have credible reports of election bribery, received from Yerevan and, perhaps, from all regions of the republic. The Anti-Corruption Committee’s revelation in Armavir was not surprising to us, as it matched our information.
