On April 1, RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Armenia, Mansour Abdulla Salem Saad Al Sulaitin.
Congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment, Minister Hayrapetyan noted that the mission of the first resident Ambassador of Qatar to Armenia will be an important impetus for the development of bilateral relations and the expansion of cooperation.
During the meeting, the Minister presented the dynamics of the development of Armenia’s high-tech sector, emphasizing the continuous growth recorded over recent years. Mkhitar Hayrapetyan emphasized the importance of state support programs, referring to initiatives aimed at developing the technological ecosystem and legislative reforms that promote innovation and improve the investment environment.
During the meeting, the “Seaside Startup Summit Armenia” initiative was discussed as an important platform for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the region. The prospects for possible cooperation within the framework of the event were also discussed, emphasizing its importance for expanding international ties.
The Minister also spoke about the concept of turning Armenia into an “AI data center garden,” presenting the construction process of FirebirdAI and EleveightAI artificial intelligence data centers in Hrazdan and Gagarin. The opportunities for exporting high-performance computing resources in the AI sector were also discussed.
Ambassador Mansour Abdulla Salem Saad Al Sulaitin highly appreciated Armenia’s technological potential and expressed Qatar’s interest in deepening cooperation, particularly in high technology, AI, and investment. He reaffirmed his readiness to support the implementation of joint initiatives.
During the meeting, prospects for developing cooperation between Armenia and Qatar in the field of high technology were discussed, with both sides emphasizing the realization of existing potential and advancing joint programs. Particular attention was paid to strengthening ties in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and semiconductors, as well as the role of scientific and educational institutions in training highly qualified specialists and implementing joint research and engineering projects.
At the end of the meeting, the parties highly appreciated the recent high-level mutual visits. They agreed to continue active dialogue to strengthen bilateral relations and deliver practical results.
