The visit of Russian parliamentarians to the United States on March 26-27 is of great importance for relations between the two countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told TASS.
“The visit is of great importance. Such contacts have not been held for many years. In today’s times, this is a historical milestone. It is important that the parliamentarians hold several meetings not only behind closed doors, but also communicate with the political science community and the media,” he noted.
According to the Deputy Foreign Minister, the visit’s impact is obvious.
“Given the, to put it mildly, constant stagnation in our bilateral relations and the difficulties in stabilizing Russian-American relations, such initiatives are in demand,” the diplomat added.
