US President Donald Trump has announced a breakthrough in talks with Iran, noting that the Tehran side itself initiated the contact to avoid the destruction of its energy system. According to the president, the parties already have an agreement in principle on nuclear issues. Washington demands the transfer of enriched uranium and the cessation of enrichment, which will allow Iran to restore its economy.
“It’s very easy. If we have an agreement, we will go and take it ourselves,” Trump said, answering the question of how they will take control of Iran’s enriched uranium.
Trump praised the current Iranian negotiator (whom he did not specify) while questioning the fact that the Supreme Leader is still alive. The president expressed hope that a personal meeting would take place in the near future and expressed confidence that Israel would be “very pleased” with the agreements being reached. Despite the prospect of peace, Trump stressed the need for a military budget amid global tensions.
“There are a lot of points of agreement with Iran at the moment, about 15 points. Iran will not have nuclear weapons. That’s number one, two, and three. They will never have nuclear weapons; they agreed to that,” he said.
