Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, to discuss regional tensions and the consequences of US and Israeli actions. Araghchi strongly condemned the targeting of Iranian civilian infrastructure, including schools and hospitals, and reaffirmed Tehran’s determination to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He stressed that striking American and Israeli military facilities in the countries of the region is Iran’s natural right of self-defense. He expressed regret that the territories of some Islamic countries are being used for attacks against Iran.
Referring to the security of shipping, Iran’s top diplomat stressed that the instability created in the Strait of Hormuz is “forced” and is a direct result of US and Israeli military aggression.
According to him, the international community must hold the real perpetrators accountable. For his part, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, presenting the results of his recent consultations with countries in the region, emphasized the importance of reducing tensions and strengthening relations between Iran and neighboring countries.
