The “Grand Parade of the Planets” will take place on February 28, the Byurakan Observatory reports. The “Parade of the Planets” is a beautiful observational phenomenon that occurs when several planets are simultaneously aligned on one side of the Sun. On February 28, 2026, six of the planets of the Solar System: Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune will form this “parade”. Jupiter will be visible to the naked eye and can be observed through a telescope. At the same time, the planets Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune will be very close to the horizon and will be unobservable even with telescopes.
It should be noted that the “Parade of the Planets” is not an official astronomical term; it is also often called a “planetary alignment”. Such alignments of six planets are considered relatively rare phenomena. Such major alignments occur approximately once every 20 years.
