The Vatican will not participate in the “Peace Council” initiative on the Gaza issue. This was announced by the Secretary of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who noted that there are several controversial issues concerning the Holy See.
According to Parolin, some provisions of the initiative are unclear and not fully understandable to the Vatican. He emphasized that the main platform for resolving international conflicts should remain the UN, and not bodies created in a separate format.
