Trilateral talks between the delegations of Russia, the United States, and Ukraine ended late in the evening in Geneva. They lasted about 4.5 hours. The second round of negotiations will continue today.
“After the joint part, work continued in groups, in specific directions. The discussions focused on practical issues and mechanisms for possible solutions,” wrote Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, head of the Ukrainian delegation, on the Telegram channel.
Earlier, Reuters and the BBC Ukrainian service, citing their own sources, reported that the political group had completed its work, while the military representatives worked a little longer.
“Tomorrow morning, the political and military groups will continue their work,” added the NS Secretary.
Earlier, Serhi Leshchenko, Advisor to the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, confirmed that the national security advisers of France, Germany, Italy, and Great Britain had arrived in Switzerland.
TASS, citing a “Western source,” noted that representatives of European countries were not present in the negotiation hall. Leshchenko clarified that the Europeans in Geneva are “if not in the room, then in constant contact.”
