Almost all flights of the German airline Lufthansa have been canceled due to a strike by its employees.
The company’s approximately 4,800 pilots are demanding increased payments to corporate and transitional pension plans.
According to the German Airports Association, more than 460 flights have been canceled, affecting up to 70,000 passengers.
In a general vote in the fall, they overwhelmingly supported a strike. However, the union refused to go on strike at the time.
