NASA aims to launch its historic Artemis II lunar mission as soon as possible in March, sending four astronauts into space for the first time in more than five decades since the Apollo program ended.
The decision comes after NASA announced it had completed a wetsuit test, a key test of the rocket system that will send astronauts into an unprecedented orbit around the moon. The mission was scheduled to launch on February 8.
NASA said it encountered several problems during the test, including a hydrogen leak caused by cold weather and a delayed launch. At the same time, the Artemis II Space Launch System rocket was being fueled. The delay will allow the teams to review data and conduct a second launch attempt.
