NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, speaking in the Ukrainian parliament, said that immediately after the signing of the peace agreement, representatives of the alliance and other allies’ armed forces will appear in the country.
“Ukraine needs strong support. The ‘Coalition of the Willing’ has made progress on the issue of guarantees, as Zelensky noted.
As soon as the peace agreement is signed, the armed forces will appear immediately,” he said.
The Secretary General stressed that an agreement to end the war would require “difficult choices.”
“Ukraine must understand that every sacrifice made, every life lost, every difficult moment endured will not be repeated in the near future. That peace will be lasting. And that major countries will implement the signed documents. You would not want a second Budapest Memorandum or another Minsk (meaning the pre-war agreements),” he emphasized.
