NA Speaker Alen Simonyan sent a message on the anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces:
“Dear compatriots, gentlemen officers, and our very beloved servicemen,
I congratulate all of us on the 34th anniversary of the Army of the Republic of Armenia.
The perceptions of the army when it was viewed only in the context of war are in the past. Today, appreciating the important mission of the Armed Forces, we see it as a key pillar of peacekeeping, strengthening statehood and social development, and, by developing it, we can move forward toward building a safe, just, and democratic Armenia.
Once again, we bow to the memory of our soldiers who died in the line of duty and express our gratitude to all those who strengthen the security and future of our country through their service.
Glory to the Armenian Army,
Long live the free, independent, and sovereign Republic of Armenia.”
