Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa spoke with Trump on the phone today.
During the conversation, the two presidents stressed the importance of supporting all efforts to preserve Syria’s territorial integrity and independence and to establish stability.
The parties stressed the need to guarantee and protect the rights of the Kurdish people within the framework of the Syrian state.
The two sides agreed to continue cooperation in the fight against the Islamic State (IS) and to put an end to its threats.
Several regional issues were discussed during the phone conversation.
