RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan addressed the issue of vaccinations to prevent infectious diseases at the government session.
“The format for issuing international certificates on vaccinations, as well as the targets set for us in terms of vaccination rates for children aged 0-10 and the current situation in maintaining zero cases of non-dangerous diseases from an infectious point of view, are in the spotlight,” she said.
The Minister added that new, latest-generation, combined hexavalent vaccines have been introduced, significantly reducing the need for multiple vaccinations. At the same time, she emphasized the introduction of the chickenpox vaccine, which is already included in the national vaccination calendar.
“The work carried out in the information field on vaccinations for the prevention of infectious diseases is already yielding results. In particular, the vaccination rate for children aged 0-1 in 2025 was 95.1%, which is the highest rate recorded within the framework of available statistical data since 2011,” noted Anahit Avanesyan.
