Iran’s last Shah, Reza Pahlavi, has appealed to US President Donald Trump to support the Iranian people.
Reminding the millions of Iranians who took to the streets last night, Pahlavi stressed that they are now facing not only gunfire but also a comprehensive communications blackout, with no internet or phones. As a result of this blackout, Pahlavi is seriously concerned that the authorities are preparing to use further violence, using the blackout to kill young protesters.
Iran’s last Shah called on the people to continue the struggle but warned that time is of the essence.
“The people will take to the streets again in an hour, and it is time for the international community, especially the United States, to support their struggle,” he said in a statement.
He also stressed that Trump’s threat has kept the Iranian authorities within certain limits, thus preventing them from putting pressure on the protesters. Pahlavi appealed to Trump to be ready to intervene and support the Iranian people.
“You have proven that you are a man of peace and a man of your word. Please be ready to intervene to help the Iranian people,” he added.
