On January 9, 2007, Apple co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs introduced a device that would later radically change the technological world – the first iPhone – at the Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco.
“Today we are introducing three revolutionary devices…”, Jobs said.
He announced that Apple was introducing three revolutionary products: a widescreen iPod with touch control, an innovative phone, and a mobile device with Internet access, which are actually combined into one device – the iPhone.
The new product combined the functions of a mobile phone, an iPod, and an Internet browser through a touchscreen. The absence of a physical keyboard, multi-touch technology, and a full web browser distinguished it.
According to Apple, the iPhone was designed to change how mobile communications and digital technologies are used. Sales of the first iPhone began in the United States on June 29, 2007. The price was around $500-600, which was a lot of money at the time.
It should be noted that the iPhone 17 is now on sale, with prices starting at around $800.
