Radar Armenia‘s interlocutor is international affairs expert Shahan Gandaharian.
– How was the past year? If we try to summarize 2025, what did it yield?
– The year was marked by attempts to end wars. Not all environments achieved the same results; however, a ceasefire was established in both Gaza and Lebanon. The case of Ukraine is entirely different.
– In your opinion, what are the main achievements that were recorded in 2025 in the international arena?
– In the Middle East, a new phase of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict was recorded as a prelude to negotiations. This is a turning point at the international level.
– And what are the main failures that occurred in the past year?
– What was characteristic of the Middle East was not repeated in Ukraine. There, the US and Russia have not yet reached fundamental agreements.
– What are your expectations for 2026?
– There are no great expectations. Breakthrough situations will not be created immediately. Phased negotiations in different directions may resume at the Middle Eastern level.
– And I would like to ask for your New Year’s greetings to our readers.
– I would like the Armenian media to report brilliant news about the state and the homeland, about a dignified peace, the return of prisoners, and the strengthening of statehood.
