We are working with the American side in more detail. We should reach the point where ground construction begins in the second half of 2026. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, on Public Television.
“Armenia is being lifted from the blockade, intensive discussions are underway with the American side on TRIPP, construction will begin next year, Armenia will be connected to foreign markets through TRIPP,” Mirzoyan emphasized.
When asked whether Russia and Iran are against the “Trump path,” Mirzoyan said: “The lifting of the blockade raised certain questions in Iran, but answers have been given; now we see opportunities in infrastructure, not problems.”
Mirzoyan also emphasized that peace has been established with Azerbaijan and that there are signs of cooperation, but this does not mean the parties have fully completed the necessary process. The existing problems are subject to addressing.
Speaking about Armenian-Turkish relations, the RA Foreign Minister noted that it is time for us to achieve tangible, concrete progress.
“We have a very intensive and very positive dialogue with Turkey, but at the same time, it is time for us to have great, tangible, concrete progress on the ground. I think we will have very positive progress in the very near future,” he said.
According to the RA Foreign Minister, the RA government has no intention to exclude Russia from Armenia or to sever political, economic, or other ties with Russia; it does not pursue such a policy.
“This should not be identified with membership in the EAEU. If one day the question arises of joining the EU, a parallel question will arise: whether to remain in the EAEU. When that day comes, we will sit down, think, and make a decision,” he said, adding that the issue of withdrawing the 102nd Russian military base is also not being discussed.
