According to the BBC, the Irish government has received reports of unidentified drones in the country’s airspace. The drones appeared when the plane of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was supposed to land in Dublin. Zelensky arrived in Ireland on an official visit earlier this week.
Irish government sources confirmed the incident, but the Irish armed forces refused to comment on the information initially disseminated by the media.
Zelensky’s adviser, Dmytro Lytvyn, also confirmed the drone information.
“The host side is responsible for security. According to their information, there were indeed such drones, but this did not affect the visit in any way and did not require any changes to the plan,” Litvin told Ukrainian journalists.
The Irish Journal was the first to report on the drones. According to the publication, on Monday evening, as Zelensky’s plane approached Dublin, four unidentified drones flew toward the route the presidential plane was allegedly taking.
