– How would you comment on the visit of the interim Syrian president to the US? What did this mean? Is the US trying to expand in the Middle East by restoring relations with the current Syrian leader?
– The US is the overall controller in the processes related to the Middle East. Russia is attempting to establish bases, particularly in maritime areas. We limit the movements of the Turkish factor. Israel is already present in Syrian territories in a military form. The Kurdish phenomenon remains a trump card. The US will not allow Ankara to carry out large-scale operations against the Kurds. The actions of various forces will be characterized by mutual counterbalancing, in this case, in the Syrian territories.
– Trump also met with Tokayev earlier. How will the US move to the East end?
-The US diplomatic and economic policy has become more active towards the East. This is explained by the motivation to pave new paths for large financial projects. In general, the new world order is being shaped by the redrawing of the political map.
– How do you see the role of Russia in this game? Is Moscow calm with the US coming to the Middle East or not?
-Moscow is restless. Its goal for centuries has been its presence in the Mediterranean territories, especially in Syria. Now its influence has decreased. The processes in the region do not stem from Russia’s interests.
– How will these events affect our region, taking into account the agreements and programs that have been reached?
-The global trends have already reached the South Caucasus, the face of which is changing step by step with various programs. Correctly assessing these circumstances is crucial for our country in terms of rebalancing the foreign policy vectors, particularly in implementing a balanced policy.
