Opening speech of the President of the Republic of Armenia at the first Prayer Breakfast event in Armenia:
“I heartily welcome you all on the occasion of the conference launched in the Republic of Armenia.
This initiative is a significant and symbolic event that unites representatives from political, diplomatic, economic, social, and spiritual spheres. It testifies that the strength of a state is measured not only by economic or military indicators, but also by moral and spiritual foundations.
Armenia, as the world’s first Christian state, has consistently drawn strength from its faith and values throughout its history. In difficult times, we have been sustained not only by our courage, but also by the conviction that a state is stable to the extent that its value foundations are stable: ideas dedicated to man, justice, freedom, and responsibility.
Today, as our region embarks on a path of new opportunities and peace, it is essential that we build this path not on force or coercion, but on respect, trust, and universal moral principles.
Such platforms for prayer, reflection, and open dialogue have a special meaning. They remind us that different opinions and beliefs can unite around a common goal for the sake of solidarity and a peaceful future.
The harmony of spiritual and secular principles is the foundation on which a modern, democratic, and trustworthy state can be built. Democracy is viable only when freedom is accompanied by responsibility, power by a sense of service, and the law by a moral basis.
Today, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the authors of this initiative for their tireless work and dedication. This format serves as a reminder that there is not only a political but also a moral connection between the state and society, founded on mutual respect and trust.
May this event become a new beginning for the unity of our people, moral renewal, and the path of faith-led solidarity and dignified peace.
