Historical record: the number of jobs exceeded 800 thousand

During the government session, the Prime Minister also published new statistics on jobs: “As of September 2025, for the first time in history, the number of registered and paid jobs in Armenia has exceeded 800,000. Historically, we have never had such a number, and as of September, it amounted to 805,687. I draw our attention to the fact that compared to September of the previous year, registered jobs are 37,140 more, or 4.8 percent more. And compared to September of 2018, they are 222,912 more, or 38 percent more. Thus, we can record that since 2018, more than 222,000 paid jobs have been created in Armenia.”

The Head of State also touched upon the issue of well-being within the framework of the topic and noted, “On the one hand, there is an increase in jobs; on the other hand, we say that Armenia is a dynamically developing country. And this is true. But there is also such a reality when people understandably raise a question; they say that there are many people who are working, working, but they do not live a prosperous life.” Nikol Pashinyan noted that this is already a matter of qualifications and capabilities and emphasized that the Government has created favorable conditions by reducing income tax to a historical minimum, and much also depends on the capabilities of the workforce, individuals, and small and medium-sized businesses.

Speaking about the planned changes in the structure of the economy, the head of state noted, “Fundamental changes will take place in the structure of the economy in the near future. In particular, now we see and must note with satisfaction that Armenia is overcoming the blockade step by step. It has been discussed for two days that Azerbaijan announced the lifting of export restrictions to Armenia, and I expressed my appreciation for this decision of the President of Azerbaijan on the international stage, at the “Silk Road” conference held in Tbilisi, and I welcomed that decision. I want to do the same here, because it is a very important decision. And it shows that the Washington Declaration and the agreements reached, as some try to present them, are not just a declaration. In other words, they are a declaration, but they have brought concrete results with them.”

The Prime Minister also touched upon the export indicators of agricultural products and noted, “As of today, we have a 13.8 percent increase in exports compared to the previous year, and in specific directions: 25.5 percent increase in apricots, 61.1 percent increase in plums, 87.1 percent increase in peaches, 123 percent increase in cherries, 245 percent increase in pears, 12 percent increase in tomatoes, 62 percent increase in peppers, 843 percent increase in cabbage, a 72 percent increase in eggplants, 6.4 percent increase in cauliflower, 116 percent increase in tons.” Such an indicator, according to Nikol Pashinyan, is related to the development of intensive agriculture.
