– The ceasefire reached in Gaza was violated, although it was restored after a short time. What did this mean? Was it just an incident, or are the parties nevertheless unable to maintain the agreements reached?
– I don’t expect a complete ceasefire. It would inevitably be violated. The general agreement has not been signed yet, and the control mechanism is not functioning, or rather, it has not yet been formed. Therefore, such incidents will occur. However, a return to full-scale war is not in sight at the moment.
– What is the reason that, despite the agreement, the ceasefire is being violated?
– The reasons may be different. Until the moment when the control council and the peacekeeping forces arrive, the ceasefire, even to a limited extent, will continue to be violated.
– How would you comment on US President Trump’s reaction to what happened, especially since the president’s special representative is leaving for Israel?
– Trump’s central message is that the US is involved and guarantees the peace process. He wants to show that it is through his mediation that peace is being established, and decisive steps are being taken in that direction. According to him, a return to war is excluded.
– Will we witness such incidents again, or is the ceasefire still in place?
– Some prerequisites for a resurgence are still present. However, the international community has recognized that, with the US’s active participation, a new political map is being drawn in the region. The key motive for this map is Gaza’s location within the new energy export system. And energy projects presuppose stability, agreement, and a predictable environment. The idea of creating an investment zone should be viewed in this logic.
