On October 30, at 7:00 PM, the final jubilee event dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great Armenian poet, prose writer, cultural and public figure Avetik Isahakyan will be held at the A. The joint initiative of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia and the Yerevan Municipality is implementing the Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet.
Within the framework of the events held on the occasion of Avetik Isahakyan’s 150th anniversary, the Yerevan Municipality announced in January 2025 a competition for the creation of a musical work, a vocal-symphonic work, based on Isahakyan’s poem “Abu-Lala Mahari.” The winner was the oratorio “Abu-Lala Mahari” by composer Vache Sharafyan.
The premiere of the work above will take place at the jubilee evening. It will be performed by the National Academic Orchestra and Choir of the Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet.
