The American company Auterion has introduced the Artemis ALM-20 long-range uncrewed aerial vehicle, developed in cooperation with Ukraine.
The uncrewed aerial vehicle can carry 40 kg of explosives and hit targets at a distance of up to 1,600 km. It is equipped with a Skynode N onboard computer and a visual navigation system based on artificial intelligence. The company said this technology enables the device to navigate terrain and hit targets with high accuracy, even in the event of GPS failures.
Auterion’s project partner is a Ukrainian manufacturer, whose name is being kept secret for security reasons. Artemis’s design is similar to the Iranian Shahed attack drone.
The drone’s tests were conducted in Ukraine and included ground flights, GPS loss navigation, long-range flights, and target detection. After successful tests, the system was also offered to the armed forces of allied countries. Production lines are already being installed in the United States, Ukraine, and Germany.
