Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan expressed hope that the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace agreement will be signed and ratified as soon as possible.
In his speech at the 108th “Rose-Roth” seminar of the NATO PA, he noted that today there is a historic opportunity to resolve past conflicts and build a peaceful, good-neighborly future.
He also spoke about relations with Turkey, emphasizing that it continues to remain one of the priorities of the RA foreign policy. “This historic opportunity to build good-neighborly relations should not be missed. The normalization of relations will not only bring stability and prosperity to the region. Still, it will also contribute to strengthening global security, showing that long-standing conflicts can be overcome through dialogue and diplomacy.”
He expressed hope that Turkey will respond to Armenia’s readiness to establish diplomatic relations and have open borders as soon as possible. “We are ready for this right today,” he said.
According to Rubinyan, Armenia’s security strategy has depended on only one pole for decades, which has created numerous problems, and now they are working towards diversifying it.”
