RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that although Ambassador Sobhani served in a rather difficult period, during this period the two countries managed not only to overcome difficulties, but also to register tangible results in bilateral relations. In this context, the interlocutors discussed the current and future work aimed at developing the Armenia-Iran strategic partnership, which encompasses several areas of mutual interest, including infrastructure and energy.
Both sides emphasized that the Armenia-Iran cooperation is based on friendship between the two peoples, unconditional respect for principles important for regional peace, and mutual understanding on key issues.
For his significant contribution to the deepening of cooperation between Armenia and Iran, as well as the strengthening and development of Armenian-Iranian friendly relations, Minister Mirzoyan presented Ambassador Mehdi Sobhani with the Order of Friendship, awarded to him by the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia, wishing him success in his future activities.
