Newcastle have responded to the statement of their striker, Alexander Isak.
The Swede explained why he refused to play and train with the team. Newcastle did not sell the striker to Liverpool for 110 million pounds sterling plus bonuses.
“We are disappointed and concerned by today’s announcement about Isak. Our position is clear: Alex has a contract, and no club representative has given any guarantee that Alex will be able to leave Newcastle this summer.
We want to keep our best players, but we also understand that players have their wishes, and we listen to their views. As we have explained to Alex and his representatives, when making any decision, we must always consider the interests of Newcastle, the team, and our fans. We have made it clear that the terms of the sale have not been announced this summer. We do not expect those terms to be met.
“We are a proud football club with a proud tradition and are committed to maintaining a family atmosphere. Alex remains a member of our family, and we look forward to his return when he is ready to be reunited with his teammates,” Newcastle said in a statement.
