As a result of the talks, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed a joint declaration on high-level strategic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey.
Eighteen intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents were signed during Tokayev’s official visit to Ankara.
The parties exchanged views on pressing global issues and expressed concern over the escalation of armed conflicts.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the special role of Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
“Kazakhstan supports the need to preserve the territorial integrity of all countries. Kazakhstan and Turkey will continue effective cooperation in the international arena. Kazakh diplomacy will pay special attention to the further development of the Organization of Turkic-Speaking States. In this direction, we will continue joint work with the Turkish side and join efforts to ensure global stability and security,” he said.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan also noted that the negotiations were productive.
“The prospects for cooperation in the field of mining and rare metals, and the possibilities of exporting Kazakh oil to the world market through the territory of our country were discussed. The ways of using and developing the Trans-Caspian transport route, a modern analogue of the historical Silk Road, were also discussed,” the Turkish President said.
