The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Jeanne Andreasyan, received the Ambassador of the Republic of France to the Republic of Armenia, Olivier Decottignies. Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Artur Martirosyan, also attended the meeting.
Welcoming the Ambassador, Minister Andreasyan expressed gratitude for the practical cooperation and emphasized the friendly and historically strong relations between Armenia and France, reaffirming the readiness to expand and deepen cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, youth, and sports.
During the meeting, among other issues, the organizational issues of the exhibition to be held jointly with the Louvre Museum in September 2025 at the History Museum of Armenia were discussed. It is planned to transfer more than a dozen significant exhibits from the Louvre collection to Armenia while adhering to all safety protocols.
“We view this cooperation not only as an important cultural event, but also as an effective means of developing the capabilities and professional strengthening of our museums,” noted Minister Jeanne Andreasyan, adding that in recent years, Armenian museums have carried out practical work on organizing international exhibitions.
The Ambassador of the Republic of France to the Republic of Armenia, Olivier Decotigny, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and the continuous support provided to the French Embassy’s initiatives.
During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed, which related, in particular, to the activities of the French University in Armenia (FUA), the French Educational Complex named after Anatole France, and the development of teaching French as a foreign language in general education schools of the Republic of Armenia.
