The United States must rule out further strikes against Iran if it wants to resume diplomatic efforts, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said in an interview with the BBC.
He said the administration of US President Donald Trump has conveyed to Tehran through mediators its desire to return to the negotiating table but has “not clarified its position on a critical issue” – further strikes.
Takht-Ravanchi also said Iran would insist on the possibility of enriching uranium for peaceful purposes and denied reports that his country was secretly seeking to create a nuclear bomb.

According to the deputy minister, Iran has been “denied access to nuclear materials” for its research program, so it has to “act independently.”
“The level of enrichment can be discussed, the volumes can be discussed, but to say that you should not enrich uranium that you should have zero enrichment and if you do not agree, we will bomb you – this is the law of the jungle,” he said.
