US President Donald Trump received Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at the White House today. The US president noted that he still believes that Canada should become the 51st state of the United States.
In response, Carney noted that Canada is not for sale and will never be sold. Trump emphasized: “Never say never.”
During this meeting, the US president also promised to make an important announcement on May 8 or 9.
“This announcement will be made on Thursday, Friday, or Monday before we leave (for the Middle East – ed.), but it will be one of the most important announcements that have been made in many years on a specific topic, a critical topic,” he said.
The White House head, however, did not elaborate on the topic he was discussing but added that the announcement would be very positive.
