The opening ceremony of the exhibition Harmonies d’Arménie by Armenian photographer Lydia Kasparyan, which includes unique photographs dedicated to Armenia, was held in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in France reported.
The event was attended and delivered by the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to France, Arman Khachatryan, the Mayor of the 10th arrondissement, Alexandra Cordebard, and photographer Lydia Kasparyan. The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Paris for Remembrance and Veterans Affairs, Laurence Patrice.
In his speech, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of holding a unique cultural event dedicated to Armenia in Paris. He highly appreciated Lydia Kasparyan’s unique photographic heritage, which has been supplemented with rich photographic reflections devoted to Armenia, the Armenian natural world, and historical and cultural heritage in recent years.
This impressive series of several dozen photographs representing Armenia reflects Lydia Kasparyan’s unique creative path. It also bears the direct imprint of the artist’s father, the famous French-Armenian photographer Roger Kasparyan, who was awarded the title of “Best View of the 60s” and with whom Lydia Kasparyan made several of her visits to Armenia.
The French-Armenian “Yerevan” ensemble performed as part of the event, performing Komitas’ works and Armenian folk songs. The exhibition of photographs will continue for about a month until May 20. In connection with the exhibition, a discussion will be held at the City Hall on May 7, during which Lydia Kasparyan will present her creative path and the history of her family.
