RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan met with several high-ranking officials at the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington.
Minister Hovhannisyan, in particular, met with IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li. During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of the 5th review of the IMF’s reserve program and touched upon the macroeconomic situation in Armenia and the latest developments in the sector.
Then, during the meeting with Jihad Azour, Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department, the parties discussed the IMF’s Economic and Financial Policy Memorandum and the opportunities and directions of the upcoming program with the IMF.
Working discussions on the still unagreed issues of the memorandum also continued between representatives of the RA Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank and the Head of the IMF Mission, Iva Petrova. During the negotiations, the parties agreed on almost all the issues outlined.
The Minister thanked the latter for Iva Petrova’s end of her term, for the invaluable work done, and for the effective partnership.
