On April 22, within the framework of the 81st session of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), which was taking place in Bangkok, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated in and delivered a speech at the discussion entitled “Special Body on Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States.” The RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this.
In his speech, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia highly appreciated the support of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific in addressing the multifaceted challenges facing Landlocked Countries (LLDCs).
As a landlocked developing country, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia emphasized that Armenia reaffirms the need for inclusive connectivity, open borders, and uninterrupted roads and transport infrastructure. In this context, the Deputy Foreign Minister referred to the “Crossroads of Peace” concept of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, reaffirming the Republic of Armenia’s commitment to establishing peace and cooperation in the region, aimed at ensuring the uninterrupted movement of people, goods, and services.
The Deputy Foreign Minister also reaffirmed the Republic of Armenia’s readiness to work closely with all interested partners to promote equal and non-discriminatory connectivity in the South Caucasus and beyond.
