Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that diplomatic cooperation has been effective in the past and can be effective now. Still, it should be clear to everyone that there is no concept of a “military option,” let alone a “military solution.”
ISNA said the Iranian Foreign Minister was responding to US President Donald Trump’s anti-Iranian statements. “The US president may not be interested in the 2015 nuclear deal, but it contains a key commitment from Iran that remains in force, and even the US, which is not a party to the deal, has benefited from it. Iran reiterates that it will never, under any circumstances, seek, produce or acquire nuclear weapons,” Araghchi wrote on his “X” page.
The Iranian Foreign Minister said that 10 years after the signing of the JCPOA and 7 years after the US unilaterally withdrew, there is no evidence that Iran violated that commitment, recalling that even the US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard recently fully acknowledged this. Araghchi emphasized, “It should be clear to everyone that there is no concept of a military option, let alone a military solution.”
