US President Donald Trump has considered it possible that the Kremlin influenced some members of his administration and team. He stated this after a meeting with his cabinet.
Trump responded to a request from media representatives to comment on the statements made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Time magazine, in which he suggested that Russia could exert informational influence on some members of the White House team. The US president did not deny this assumption but noted that something like this could have happened and be connected with efforts to achieve peace between Russia and Ukraine.
“Well, they were probably influenced to resolve this issue because Ukraine wants it resolved. “I think they need to fix it, and Russia wants to fix it,” Trump said.
Trump also added that he highly appreciates the work of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, his special representative for the Middle East, Steve Whitkoff, who is negotiating with the Russian authorities, and national security adviser Mike Walz.
“Marco is doing a great job, and Steve Whitkoff has also been incredible… Michael Waltz… We have a great group of people working on this. They spend a significant portion of their working day on a fix that affects us financially because we’ve given so much money,” Trump said.
