RA Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan stated that the effective implementation of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, including the work of sectoral bodies, remains a priority.
According to him, in 2024, the Council adopted decisions to support Armenia within the “European Peace Facility” framework and to launch a dialogue on visa liberalization. The EU monitoring mission continues to operate on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.
MP Armen Gevorgyan asked about the approximate time when the issue of visa liberalization could become apparent. “I am sorry, but I cannot specify a specific year when the negotiations will be completed. But, in my opinion, this process will go much faster than in the case of several other countries,” the Deputy Minister said, adding that in this regard, one can consider the experience of other countries, which, approximately 3-to 6 years. According to him, EU partners also avoid talking about deadlines.
