Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, “My team and I are ready to work under the strong leadership of US President Donald Trump to achieve a lasting peace.”
“None of us wants an endless war. Ukraine is ready to sit at the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring peace closer. No one wants peace more than the Ukrainians. My team and I are ready to work under the strong leadership of President Trump to achieve a lasting peace,” he wrote on his X page.
Zelensky stressed that they were ready to act quickly to end the war. The first stages could include the release of prisoners and an immediate ceasefire in the air and at sea, provided that Russia does the same.
“We want to move quickly through all the next stages and work with the United States to agree on a final deal. We appreciate how much America has helped Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence. Thank you,” he noted
According to the Ukrainian President, the meeting at the White House in Washington did not go as planned.
“I regret that it happened this way. It is time to do everything right. We want our future cooperation and communication to be constructive. As for the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it at any time and in any convenient format,” Zelensky said.
