Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Astrid Schumaker, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity.
The Prime Minister welcomed Ms. Schumaker’s visit and noted that it will provide an opportunity to discuss the progress of the work being carried out towards organizing the COP17 conference to be held in Armenia and the upcoming tasks. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of active cooperation and support in order to effectively implement the preparatory work. The Head of State emphasized that the Government of Armenia will make every effort to hold the event in the best possible way.
According to Astrid Schumaker, taking into account the fact that the organization of the event is coordinated by the Prime Minister’s staff, she expresses confidence that it will be held at a high level. The Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity added that the initiative to hold the event testifies to the interest of the Government of the Republic of Armenia in advancing the biodiversity agenda.
