The Armenian Ambassador to France, Arman Khachatryan, met with members of the France-Armenia Friendship Group in the Senate, headed by Gilbert-Luc Devinaz, in the Upper Chamber of the French Parliament on February 12. The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in France reported this.
During the meeting, Ambassador Khachatryan expressed gratitude to the French Senate, represented by President Larcher, and to its members for constantly highlighting issues related to Armenia and the Armenian people and for providing exceptional solidarity and continuous support to them.
“The Ambassador of Armenia highly appreciated the adoption of several resolutions by the French Senate in favor of Armenia and the Armenian people, the organization of conferences and discussions, and the visits of the President and members of the Senate to Armenia during a difficult period for the Armenian people.
At the senators’ request, Ambassador Khachatryan touched upon the Armenia-France bilateral agenda, in particular, the regular contacts at the highest level and the dynamically developing strategic partnership between the two countries, including the expansion of cooperation in the fields of defense, economy, and infrastructure.
The Ambassador of Armenia presented Armenia’s approaches to establishing lasting and just peace and stability in the South Caucasus, normalizing relations with Azerbaijan and signing a peace treaty, as well as the developments in the Armenia-Azerbaijan border demarcation process, and the unblocking of regional communications in the context of the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The members of the France-Armenia Friendship Group of the Senate, represented by the group’s chairman, Gilbert-Luc Devinaz, reaffirmed the Senate and friendship group’s commitment to continue contributing to the strengthening of Armenian-French friendship and the development of Armenia-France partnership. The Ambassador answered the questions of the Senate members,” the statement said.
