The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, announced that the country is withdrawing its delegation from the PACE.
“We cannot work within the framework of the Assembly in such conditions. The Parliamentary Assembly must return to its fundamental values based on democracy and respect for the people’s will. If we do not respect each other’s sovereignty, if we do not respect the will of the people, which is expressed in elections, then, of course, it is difficult to talk about the principles of international cooperation on which the modern world is based,” said Shalva Papuashvili.
