US President Donald Trump has hinted that the European Union could be next hit with tariffs.
Trump told the BBC that tariffs could be imposed on goods imported from the EU to the US.
“They don’t take our cars, they don’t take our agricultural products, they take almost nothing, and we take everything from them – millions of cars, huge amounts of food and agricultural products,” he told reporters.
The US president added that he has a good relationship with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and that trade issues with the UK could be resolved.
Asked by the BBC whether there was a deadline for announcing tariffs for the European bloc, Trump said: “I wouldn’t say there are any deadlines, but it will happen very soon.”
Regarding trade with the UK, the US president said the country had “crossed all the lines” but added that the problems could be resolved.
“The UK has crossed all the lines. But I’m confident this issue can be resolved,” Trump said.
Recall that the US has imposed 25 percent tariffs on goods imported from Mexico and Canada and 10 percent on imports from China.
