On November 19, within the framework of the visit of German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock to Yerevan, a meeting with RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan was held at the RA Foreign Ministry. Ararat Mirzoyan and Annalena Baerbock discussed the possibilities of further partnership expansion between the two countries and the ongoing steps based on democratic values and mutual interest in deepening bilateral cooperation. The importance of closer interaction and collaboration in modern fields is emphasized in current developments.
“Mrs. Minister, dear colleagues, I welcome you to Yerevan. I am always happy to see you discuss issues related to the global agenda and our region, our relations with Germany, the Armenia-EU partnership, and the deepening of our relations. We are discussing many instruments, mechanisms, and documents regarding RA-EU relations, and your contribution here is significant,” said Mirzoyan.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Germany thoroughly discussed a wide range of issues regarding the RA-EU partnership agenda, referring to the achievements recorded in the recent period, current programs, and prospects for deepening cooperation. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the new RA-EU partnership agenda is quite ambitious, based on the experience of cooperation as well as the vision of further development. Reference was made to the collaboration on multilateral platforms.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Annalena Baerbock also exchanged thoughts on regional issues. In ensuring stability in the South Caucasus, reference was made to regulating relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Minister Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the process, including the works carried out towards finalizing the draft of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty, emphasizing the importance of signing the treaty.
The head of the RA foreign political department emphasized the RA’s constructive approach to unblocking regional communications as an important component of the peace agenda and the promotion of economic interdependence with a wider geography.
