NA Speaker Alen Simonyan referred to the meeting between Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev in Kazan and the agreements reached.
“A rather long conversation occurred, at first, directly at the table, when there were speeches. If I’m not mistaken, the prime minister and the head of the neighboring country talked for more than an hour. That conversation was transferred to a different format, the photos you have seen,” said Simonyan, adding that the conversations and agreements are the same as what was announced: establishment of peace, opening communications, talking about prisoners.
Simonyan called the regulation of border demarcation commissions a bilateral victory, stressing that this is the first document between Armenia and Azerbaijan, “Its implementation is one of the most important cornerstones of Armenia and Azerbaijan’s independence and territorial integrity. We will move forward, and I fully hope we will have a positive process.”
According to Simonyan, all issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan can be solved if there is political will, “Azerbaijan and Armenia have left many problems unresolved during this conflict of more than 30 years, and in the case of political will, all these issues can be resolved.”
He referred to the statements from Azerbaijan regarding the RA constitution, “On the issue of the Constitution, we were told that it is a resolved issue, and the decision of the Supreme Court clearly showed that there is no such issue in RA. Their Constitution also has a problem, but we do not raise it.”
