The US Secretary of State’s spokesman, Matthew Miller, referred to the launch of missiles from Iran towards Israel.
“This was a brazen, unacceptable attack by Iran, and all the countries of the world should join us in condemning it,” he said, assuring that all support for Israel’s security is unwavering. “We will continue to support the people of Israel at this critical moment,” he said.
Miller claimed that the Hamas group, which Iran finances, did not want to sit at the negotiating table. “Yes, indeed, we have not been able to move forward in the ceasefire negotiations, but this is not due to a lack of effort by the United States or our regional partners. That’s because the terrorist organization that Iran has sponsored for years has refused to sit down at the negotiating table. Therefore, if Iran wants to use the breakdown of the ceasefire negotiations as an excuse for its actions today, it should point to the terrorist group it controls. It is Hamas that is responsible for the failure of these negotiations in recent weeks,” he said.
