The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, received the founding chairman of “The ARPA Institute,” a foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, and American Armenian scientist Hakob Panosyan.
Panosyan created the Alikhanyan National Laboratory with the funds of “ARPA” and also founded the first modern blood center in Erebuni Hospital. He donated the first modern sequencer for DNA studies to the Institute of Molecular Biology and necessary scientific research equipment to many institutes and universities. Since 1987, he has regularly taught in Armenia on current topics of automatic control systems.
Since then, Hakob Panosyan is often in Armenia, organizing various activities within the framework of “Arpa”. Welcoming the guest, the President highly appreciated his merits in discovering new directions of development in the field of high technology and natural sciences and health care in Armenia.
During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on finding new ways of increasing the efficiency of using high technologies in information technology, green energy production, industry, and military industry. In this context, the American-Armenian scientist presented to the President of the Republic several initiatives and programs of their working group in applied science.
At the end of the meeting, the President emphasized his readiness to support the famous scientist and the activities of his working group within the scope of opportunities.
